Hi, I’m Maryl, and this is my little corner of the internet. ✦ If you’re here, you probably found my portfolio (or someone kind sent you my way). Either way, I’m so glad you made it.
I’m an AI-Native Design Engineer, which is a fancy way of saying I designand build digital things, with AI as my copilot. I’m originally from Guadalajara, México, now based in Kansas City, and I split my days between Talexa (the recruitment platform I founded) and The App Chefs (the studio I co-founded).
What this blog is for
Think of it as my design journal, a place where I’ll share:
- Tips & tricks from real projects: design systems, UX, front-end, and AI workflows.
- Behind-the-scenes of how I build (yes, including how this whole site came to life).
- Encouragement for anyone (especially women) starting their own path in design + tech.
A little about the magic
You’ll notice a theme around here: diamonds, sparkles, a little bit of the mystical. That’s on purpose. My logo is “mg,” but I like to think of it as a tiny abbreviation for magic. I genuinely believe good design feels like a spell: invisible, intentional, and just a bit enchanting. So everything I make gets a little of that woven in. 🔮
